The rural cottage of Torre Hueca, place name of the degeneration of Torre del Huécar that was in muslims time in the conquer of Granada in 1492 a defensive tower that stored the closer areas to the city of Granada. As the description of Márquez de Cádiz witness of its destruction

This picture of A. Navajas offers a retrospective vision of the muslim region, previous to the deforestation process of christian troops. All the bank of Genil river was full of lush trees forming a big forest.

The current rural cuttage Torre Hueca, is landed over the ruins of that fortress, long time ago the base could be watched. This tower is situated in the union point between Fuente Vaqueros street and the baths in Sierra Elvira. (As book of Ángel Espinosa Cabezas).
